Spirits on the Rise
Today is a beautiful spring day in central Texas. The sun is shining. The sky is cloudless, and wildflowers are popping up everywhere. I slept through church and met Dad for lunch. I then took a drive through the cemetery and past my granparents' and our old houses. It was a nice re-connection to who I am and where I come from. For the first time in a long time, I can see some brightness around me.
Two of my friends, who know who they are, have also been instrumental in providing me with emotional and financial support during this trying time, and I am more grateful than they can ever know.
For the rest of this beautiful day, I am going to go home and write. My first writing goal is to finish a screenplay in time to enter it in the Austin Film Festival this year. It may suck, but at least it will be a learning experience. Who knows? I may even be good at it! :)
Enjoy these bluebonnets!

Good luck on that screenplay! Any project like that is a big accomplishment! You may be the next "insert famous screenwriter here" in making (sorry, I don't really know any screenwriters).
Those flowers are lovely!
